Registered Nurse (RN) - CATH LAB

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. The RN will plan, implement, and document nursing care based on the patient’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate an individualized plan of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate patient assessments based on identified problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
• Document care consistent with standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice standards and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Critical care experience is highly preferred.
• Prior experience with EPIC and Sensis is highly preferred.

Required Hard Skills:

• Circulating nurse experience.
• Proficient in EPIC, Mac-LAB, Impella, balloon pump, PCI, right heart catheterization, and left heart catheterization.

Required Soft Skills:

• Experience in circulation during pacer insertion.
• Experience with pulmonary embolism cases.

Education:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - AHA.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - AHA.
• Telemetry certification.

Schedule Notes:

• Day shift with a full-time commitment (40 hours per week).
• Weekend requirement: on-call once per month.
• Holiday requirement: one summer and one winter shift of call.
