ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing critical care to patients in an intensive care unit setting, collaborating with physicians to develop effective care plans, and delivering bedside nursing care. The successful candidate will engage in leadership responsibilities and mentorship within the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume a leadership role by integrating evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care tasks and assignments effectively.
• Participate in patient conferences and collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Assess and meet patients’ ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs, coordinating with appropriate resources.
• Engage in professional development through educational opportunities available in the community.
• Guide and teach professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precept and mentor new employees and students.
• Function as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and assignments.

Additional Duties

• Communicate relevant information clearly to ensure understanding.
• Demonstrate organizational skills through effective planning and prioritization of patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
• Open heart experience is required.
• Ability to float to Emergency Department and step-down units is required.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Additional certifications such as TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN are preferred.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Neurosurgical experience is preferred.

Attendance Policy

Our organization has implemented a strict three-strike attendance policy to ensure adequate staffing coverage and to address the needs of our patient population. Attendance strikes will be issued for absences, tardiness, or partial shift deficiencies without prior approval. Accumulation of three strikes will result in termination from the assignment. Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
