About the Job

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join an Inpatient Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide hands-on therapy that helps patients regain independence, improve functional performance, and safely transition to their next level of care.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist

• Provide hands-on therapy focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, coordination, strength, and safety

• Assist patients recovering from neurological, orthopedic, or medical conditions in regaining functional independence

• Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Occupational Therapist

• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety strategies

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab team members including PT, SLP, nursing, and physicians

• Ensure a safe, organized therapy environment and proper equipment use

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of assignment

• Prior inpatient rehabilitation or acute rehab experience preferred

• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and patient populations
