Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a temporary assignment supporting rehabilitation services in a clinical setting. The PTA works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover mobility, improve strength, and reduce pain following injury, surgery, or illness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist

• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility programs

• Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the Physical Therapist

• Accurately document treatment sessions and patient performance

• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety techniques

• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant treatment environment

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Active PTA license in the assignment state

• Current CPR/BLS certification (if required)

• Prior clinical experience preferred (SNF, hospital, outpatient, or rehab setting depending on assignment)

• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and patient populations

Assignment Details

• Position Type: Travel / Contract

• Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday (may vary by facility)

• Setting: May include Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care, Hospital, Outpatient, or Rehabilitation Center

• Start Date: As available
