Description
Occupational Therapist (OT) – Inpatient Rehabilitation (IRF)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join an inpatient rehabilitation team focused on intensive, goal-oriented recovery. This role provides the opportunity to work with patients recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgery, neurological conditions, and other medically complex diagnoses.
The OT will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions aimed at restoring functional independence, improving safety, and preparing patients for discharge. This setting requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive OT evaluations and develop individualized plans of care
Provide skilled interventions targeting activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity function, cognition, balance, and functional mobility
Treat patients with neurological, orthopedic, and medically complex conditions
Utilize adaptive equipment and teach compensatory strategies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including PT, SLP, nursing, and case management
Participate in care planning and discharge planning meetings
Supervise and guide COTAs in accordance with state practice guidelines
Complete accurate and timely documentation in EMR
Ideal Candidate:
Active OT license in practicing state
Inpatient rehab or acute care experience preferred
Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and communication skills
Comfortable working in a team-oriented, high-intensity rehabilitation setting
