Description

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services that help patients improve functional abilities, increase independence, and enhance overall quality of life. This role involves working with patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or other physical and cognitive limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
  • Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, coordination, strength, and functional performance
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and home exercise programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
  • Prepare treatment areas and ensure therapy equipment is clean, organized, and functioning properly
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care
  • Assist patients in achieving rehabilitation goals while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional therapy environment

Requirements

  • Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Required: Active COTA license in state of practice or ability to obtain
  • Preferred: Previous occupational therapy or healthcare experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
