Description
We are seeking an experienced Travel Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead the rehabilitation department at a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily therapy operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the success of the rehabilitation team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Director of Rehabilitation in a Skilled Nursing Facility and a strong understanding of PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model).
Assignment Details
- Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours per week
- Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Preferred Discipline: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department
- Supervise and support therapists and therapy assistants to ensure quality patient care
- Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental performance
- Ensure compliance with PDPM guidelines, Medicare regulations, and facility policies
- Monitor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department performance monitoring
- Assist with staff onboarding, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Provide direct patient care as needed based on facility requirements
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered rehabilitation environment
Requirements
- Required: Active professional license in an accepted rehabilitation discipline (SLP preferred)
- Required: Previous Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Required: Strong working knowledge of PDPM
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance
