Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment at a healthcare facility. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide high-quality therapy services to help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and overall functional independence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated therapy professional to expand their clinical experience while working in a new healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, patient-focused, and committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, strengthening exercises, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, endurance, balance, and functional independence
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, mobility techniques, fall prevention, and safety strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Assist with discharge planning and provide updates regarding patient progress and functional status
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting established rehabilitation goals
Requirements
- Required: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Required: Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of assignment or ability to obtain
- Preferred: Previous clinical experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting
- Strong communication, documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new facilities, teams, and patient populations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
