Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) for a 13-week assignment in an outpatient setting. The OT will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to help patients improve functional abilities, increase independence, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Approximately 20% of visits may be provided in Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), so candidates must be comfortable providing therapy across multiple settings. The ideal candidate will have recent outpatient and homecare/home-based experience, be adaptable, and be comfortable traveling within the designated service area.
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Length: 13 weeks
- Facility Work Week: Sunday–Saturday
- Missed visits: May be made up on weekends when necessary
- Daily Stand-Up: 8:30 AM Monday–Friday
- Setting: Outpatient, with approximately 20% of visits in Assisted Living Facilities
- Travel Radius: Up to 50 miles from the facility
- Expected Weekly Mileage: Approximately 50–75 miles, but may vary
- Mileage: Included in the bill rate
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 6–7 patients
- Charting System: WellSky
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve ADLs, mobility, coordination, strength, balance, fine motor skills, and functional independence
- Provide services in the outpatient setting as well as Assisted Living Facilities when assigned
- Utilize homecare/home-based therapy experience to effectively assess and treat patients in various environments
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical needs and outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and assistive equipment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using WellSky
- Participate in daily 8:30 AM stand-up meetings
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Manage an assigned caseload while maintaining quality patient care and productivity expectations
- Complete required visits within the designated service area and maintain accurate mileage records
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with facility dress and safety standards
Requirements
- Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Required: Active OT license in the state of assignment
- Required: Minimum 2 years of recent licensed OT experience
- Required: At least 1 recently completed travel assignment
- Required: Previous homecare/home-based therapy experience
- No New Graduates
- Required: BLS certification
- Required: First Aid certification
- Strong clinical, communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel between patient locations within the assigned service area
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different patient environments
Additional Assignment Requirements
- Clean, professional scrubs with closed-toe shoes are required
- COVID-19 vaccination and boosters are required
- Medical or religious exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the facility
- Travelers approved for an exemption will be required to undergo weekly testing, with testing handled by the facility
- Travelers should research and confirm suitable housing options before submission, as the assignment requires travel within the designated service area
