We are seeking a dedicated Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled therapy services designed to improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, strengthening, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and appropriate use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and home programs.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assist with achieving established therapy goals and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe and supportive treatment environment.
• Adapt effectively to new facilities, clinical teams, and patient populations throughout the assignment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Active PTA license in the assignment state or ability to obtain one.
• Previous PTA experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification may be required depending on the facility.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a travel healthcare environment.
