Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Facility: Ohio State University Hospital
Hospital System: Outside In
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Overview

Seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The role involves performing interventional radiology procedures using Siemens imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records (preferably in EPIC).


Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Rotating day off
  • Call requirements:
    • One primary weekday and one backup weekday per month
    • One weekend every 6 weeks (alternating primary or backup)

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in interventional radiology
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Skills: Proficient with Siemens imaging equipment
  • Preferred: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures
  • Operate Siemens imaging equipment effectively
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records (preferably in EPIC)

Certifications & Compliance

  • ACLS, BLS certifications must be AHA approved (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Certifications must be verified and renewed as required; travelers can renew ACLS and BLS at the facility
  • State license verification required within 30 days of start
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, or TB questionnaire in lieu of annual test
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, etc.)

Background & Screening

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide, sex offender, and MVR if applicable
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific codes for Ohio
  • Pending background or fingerprint results require attestation before start
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring for compliance

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Residency Declaration Form if using a compact license from outside Ohio
  • Proof of fingerprint completion required (in-state or out-of-state instructions apply)
  • Background Acknowledgement form for subcontractors
  • Dress Code and Hand Hygiene Policy acknowledgment required
  • Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting Mechanism Form required
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate required and must be updated annually
  • Ethics and Compliance Policies must be reviewed and signed annually for new contracts
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Education accreditation confirmation required for nursing candidates
  • Transcript/diploma required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)

Notes

  • Facility does not require annual updates for some health documents unless there is a gap in employment over 30 days
  • Fully remote positions may have some exemptions for health requirements
  • Call and scheduling requirements are contract-specific and must be adhered to
