Job Opportunity: Adult/Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Willmar, Minnesota
Facility: Rice Memorial Hospital
Hospital System: CentraCare Health System MSP
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (Monday-Friday)
  • Shift times:
    • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
    • Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Patient population: Both adult and pediatric patients
  • Setting: Mostly pediatric hospital outpatient with some adult inpatient coverage as needed
  • Diagnoses: Wide variety of diagnoses across acute care, outpatient clinic, and pediatrics
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Traveler’s primary residence must be more than 25 miles from the facility

Required Skills and Experience

  • Acute care experience
  • Outpatient clinic experience
  • Pediatric therapy experience

Certifications and Licenses

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required
  • State License: Primary source verification required (MN license specifics apply)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit testing for N95 masks required
  • Tdap vaccination required (no religious declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per MN state guidelines
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
  • COVID-19 vaccination preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start (9-panel acceptable)

Compliance and Documentation

  • Criminal background check within 1 year of start (including multi-level searches)
  • MN DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required (candidates must complete questionnaire immediately after signing contract)
  • Competency exams as applicable, updated annually
  • Skills checklist required
  • Education verification (third party) required (not required for CNAs)
  • Two references from recent employers within 2 years
  • Confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to start
  • Photo for badge with specific requirements (grey background, no selfies)
  • Dress code adherence (RRTs wear dove gray scrubs)
  • Completion of education modules during orientation (approx. 16 hours)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete a demographic questionnaire for MN DHS fingerprinting process immediately after contract signing
  • Candidates cannot start without fingerprint clearance or an approved exemption/“more time needed” letter
  • Candidates must return badges to manager on last day of assignment
