Description
RN CPCU – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (Pediatric Cardiac Experience)
Location: Anschutz Medical Campus
Unit: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU)
Unit Beds: 34 single rooms
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 2:1 or 3:1 per shift
Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Length of Assignment: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Assignment Dates: 01/06/2026 – 04/11/2026
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
Float Requirement: None (client may float within clinical competence and within 35 miles)
On Call Requirement: None
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: BSN
- Required Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS
- Clinical Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care or Cardiac Stepdown
- At least 1 year inpatient pediatric cardiology experience (ICU or intermediate care)
- Working knowledge of pediatric 3-stage single ventricle care (will be assessed)
- Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
- New travelers will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment
- Competence with pediatric cardiology patients including single ventricle, heart transplant, and VAD
Additional Information
- No return to orientation (RTO) approved within the first two weeks of assignment
- Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Policy: Medical and religious exemptions allowed for the 2025-2026 season with completed exemption form required
