Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Facility: Shannon Medical Center
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Job Description

  • Monday to Friday schedule with rotating weekly and holiday call
  • Rotation through General Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac Nuclear Medicine, and Oncology PET/CT
  • Provide diagnostic medical nuclear medicine services consistent with clinical education and training
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures for patients ranging from infants to geriatrics under physician supervision

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology or Accredited School of Nuclear Medicine
  • Required Certifications:
    • ARRT Certification in Nuclear Medicine (N) or Certification through Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
    • Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT) License from the State of Texas

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – Required as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required as applicable; required for ER, ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification – Required as applicable, mandatory for ICU and PCU
  • ENPC – Required as applicable
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Required, updated annually
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required as applicable
  • Competency Exam – Required as applicable
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) during orientation

Licensure & Verification

  • State License Verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
  • Tech Certification Verification (National) within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification and Transcript/Diploma required
  • Background Check: 7-year check required within 30 days of start, includes statewide, counties, federal, national, education, and international searches as applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • 2 professional references within 3 years required
  • Employment application/resume required
  • Skills checklist updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Fit Mask Test within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required (3M 1860 and 1860S masks accepted)
  • Immunizations and Titers (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year) and TB Questionnaire annually
    • Rubeola (Measles) – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Mumps – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Rubella – Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B – Positive titer or series with declination if applicable
    • Varicella – Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease required
  • Drug Testing required within 30 days of start; includes multiple substances; must have plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or facility-specific declination form required during flu season (10/31-3/31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine initial series required; boosters not required

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of Shannon Medical Center Non-Employee Information Form prior to start
  • Vaccine Exemption Form required if seeking exemption (medical exemptions require provider documentation)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required

This position requires strict adherence to licensure, certification, health, and compliance documentation to meet facility and regulatory standards.
