Radiation Therapist Contract Opportunity

Job Summary

  • Deliver radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Perform daily maintenance and quality assurance checks on TrueBeam Linear Accelerators.
  • Maintain inventory of departmental supplies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide patient and family education to maximize compliance with treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients' physical and physiological responses to treatment; refer for management as needed.
  • Administer radiation therapy accurately and safely; monitor and report reactions and therapeutic responses.
  • Assess patient data according to age-specific needs and departmental policies.
  • Position, immobilize, and align patients according to treatment plans; troubleshoot set-up issues.
  • Maintain logs and daily treatment records with accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with Level II Radiation Therapists to resolve clinical problems.
  • Utilize quality assurance programs to ensure treatment delivery and patient care quality.
  • Adapt contingency plans based on workload and schedule changes.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed MA RadTech-RadThrpy.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
  • Graduate of JCRT accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Massachusetts state license.
  • Experience with IMRT and IGRT.
  • Basic computer skills, including navigation of web-based applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MOSAIQ record and verify system.

Additional Information

  • Contract length: 13 weeks.
  • Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly (does not include on-call time).
  • Must have experience with TrueBeam Linear Accelerators.
  • No local candidates accepted (must reside more than 50 miles from the facility).
  • Candidates who have worked for this health system in any capacity within the last 6 months are not eligible.
  • Parking costs can be up to $43/day.
  • All requests for time off must be presented at the time of submission.
