Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois, Dixon

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications and Licensure

• Active Illinois OT license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• BLS certification required
• Lymphedema certification is a plus

Patient Population and Caseload

• Patient types: Pediatrics to geriatrics, orthopedic, neurological, fall risk, general weakness
• Number of patients treated per day: 6-10 (varies by area)
• Common settings: Inpatient acute care, outpatient, home health care
• Expected to cover at least two areas (e.g., inpatient/home health care, inpatient/outpatient ortho, lymphedema, or home health care/outpatient ortho)

Experience and Skills

• Diverse clinical background required
• Pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to work across all areas: inpatient, outpatient, and home care
• Candidates specializing in upper extremity OT or lymphedema may be considered but must provide other OT treatments as well

Documentation and Systems

• EMR systems: Cerner Community Works (inpatient & outpatient), Kinnser (home health care)

Work Schedule

• Preferred shifts: 4 days of 10-hour shifts or 5 days of 8-hour shifts (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• Typical hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Orientation

• Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
• Orientation schedule:

  • Day 1: Procedures, education, observation
  • Day 2: Orientation with 1-2 treatments/evaluations
  • Days 3-5: Assigned treatments/evaluations with extra documentation time
  • Second week: Full schedule

Additional Information

• Dress code: Black, navy, or royal blue scrubs or business casual
• Use of COTAs for treatments if available
• Drug-free campus policy with required negative drug screen
• Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty
