Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Experience
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
Staffing Ratios
- 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (for ER and Critical Care RNs)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for L&D, Post-Partum, OB units
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) as applicable
- State Nursing License verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification for RNs
- Tech Certification (National) required within 30 days for applicable roles
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)

Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for Aya candidates prior to start)
- Unit-Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required within 1 year of start and updated annually; remediation process in place for failures)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-Year Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start (including SS Trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide search, sex offender registry, MVR if driving)
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start, with specific Ohio code 3701.881
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education Accreditation Confirmation: Must be graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
- Transcript/Diploma verification required
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB Questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption allowed with documentation
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 3 months of start (includes Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, THC, Cocaine, Methadone, Methaqualone, Opiates, PCP, Propoxyphene)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but strongly recommended
Facility-Specific Policies
- Dress Code and Hand Hygiene Policy must be reviewed and signed
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting Mechanism Form required
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Training Certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Ethics and Compliance Policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually (for new contracts)
This position requires adherence to strict credentialing, background checks, health screenings, and competency validations to ensure compliance with facility and state regulations.
