Physical Therapist - Orthopedics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia

Job Description
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift
- Start Date: November 18
- Setting: Outpatient Clinic
- Skills Required:
- Orthopedics
- AROM/AAROM/PROM and Strength testing
- Post-op care for:
- Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)
- Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA)
- Rotator cuff
- Spine
- Arthritis
- Ankle sprain
- Knee Patellofemoral Syndrome (PFS)
- Low back and neck pain
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Documentation: Must hold a valid DC Physical Therapy License at time of application
- Certification Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Dress Code: Business casual (no scrubs)
- Electronic Health Record system used: WEBPT
- Facility requires all employees to have the seasonal flu vaccine
Required Credentials & Compliance
- Licenses & Certifications:
- DC Physical Therapy License (must be current and in hand)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Federal, state, and county searches as applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Health Requirements:
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test (IGRA or PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 23 - Mar 31)
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually for extensions or breaks in service over 6 months
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use for patient encounters
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist and competency exams as required, updated annually
Additional Notes
- Facility requires completion of specific orientation and safety modules prior to start
- Photo for badge must meet facility standards (clear, centered, no shadows, solid background)
- Must comply with facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
- No scrubs allowed; business casual attire required
