Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Temporary Position
Location: West Branch, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform a variety of technical procedures using independent judgment and initiative.
- Operate Nuclear Medicine instrumentation including gamma cameras (planar and SPECT), PET, radiation detectors/counters, dose calibrators.
- Conduct quality control of all equipment.
- Apply Radiation Safety Practices including patient and occupational exposure monitoring, dosimetry, and ALARA techniques (time, distance, shielding).
- Follow Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines for handling, administering, and transporting radioactive materials.
- Prepare, measure, administer, and perform quality control of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Key Responsibilities (each approx. 20% of duties):
- Inject and administer radiopharmaceuticals; assay activities; calculate volumes and activity concentrations; enter records in dose tracking system; perform lab procedures related to radiopharmaceutical kits and unit doses.
- Understand and follow Nuclear Medicine protocols and procedures; position patients; monitor patients during procedures; knowledge of acquisition parameters.
- Perform intravenous (IV) access starting using aseptic techniques and appropriate site selection.
- Operate all Nuclear Medicine instrumentation devices and perform required quality control.
- Apply radiation safety regulations and procedures diligently.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (required).
- ARRT (N) or CNMT certification (required).
- BLS (AHA) certification (required).
- Knowledge of Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) preferred.
- Must submit all scheduling requests at time of application (no scheduling changes after offer).
- Provide work history, skills checklist (updated within 1 year), and 2 supervisory reference forms (within last 2 years).
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered).

- Dress code and EMR system: Epic.
- Acute care hospital setting with 86 licensed beds.
