Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift
Hours: 36 hours per week
Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Candidate must have flu vaccine (required during flu season Sept 15 - April 30; no exemptions)
• Must have own transportation
• Shared housing available (no guests or pets allowed)

Credentials & Compliance Requirements

Required Before or At Onboarding:

• Professional Licenses:

  • Primary source verification of professional license/certification within 30 days of start date
  • MA Conditional Licenses not accepted
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted)
  • ACLS (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted)
  • NRP (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted)
• Health & Immunizations:

  • Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (no exemptions)
  • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
  • Social Security Number trace as part of criminal background check
• Other:

  • Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation (part of fit test record)
  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for any extensions
  • Education verification (highest level achieved)
  • Skills checklist
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city & state
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above)
  • Candidate submission coversheet

Optional but Preferred:

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity or declination
• Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
• Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray documentation (if applicable)
• TB symptom survey if positive PPD

Additional Notes

• No fit testing (initial or updates) can be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
• Fit test updates can be done on-site only if assignment is extended beyond original contract
• Shared housing requires signing a housing agreement
• No guests or pets allowed in shared housing

This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist seeking a day shift, 36-hour per week role in Massachusetts with a 3-month contract. Compliance with all listed certifications, immunizations, and background checks is mandatory.
