MRI Technologist - Travel Contract

Job Details

  • Specialty: MRI Technology
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule:
    • 8-hour rotating flexible shifts (including nights and weekends)
    • Saturday: 6:30 AM – 9:00 PM
    • Sunday: 6:30 AM – 9:00 PM
    • Monday: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (excluding on-call time)
  • Location Restriction: No local travelers within 50 miles of the facility accepted
  • Previous Employment Restriction: Candidates who have worked at any affiliated facility within the last six months will not be considered

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related MRI technologist experience
  • ARRT certification required
  • BLS-AHA certification required
  • Experience with Epic system and GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
  • Flu vaccination required prior to start (season begins 09/02; medical exemptions accepted)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, including setup of equipment and patient positioning
  • Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications
  • Select and record appropriate pulse sequences for MRI procedures
  • Evaluate scan quality and completeness; manipulate images for physician review
  • Send images to PACS system and verify exam completeness in a timely manner
  • Respond to patients’ physical and psychological needs; explain procedures clearly and patiently
  • Start IV lines for patients requiring contrast; monitor for reactions and report promptly
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics related to MRI procedures
  • Edit computer entries for accuracy regarding exam descriptions and billing
  • Participate in teaching and clinical evaluation of MRI students and technologists
  • Engage in continuing education activities during and outside normal working hours

  • Fast-paced setting requiring ability to work independently
  • Flexible shifts to cover critical needs including nights and weekends

This position is a travel contract opportunity requiring experienced MRI technologists who are certified, able to work flexible hours, and comfortable in a fast-paced hospital environment.
