Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department, New Hampshire
Location
- City: Manchester, NH

Unit Information
- Beds:
- 4 beds in secure locked psychiatric annex
- 25 procedure rooms (curtained or with doors)
- 8 hallway beds (utilized 24/7)
- Staff: 88 total (various job titles)
- Shifts:
- 7a-3a: 1 Charge RN, 7 RNs, 3 ED Techs, 2 RP; Annex: 1 RN, 1 ED Tech
- 3a-7a: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 2 ED Techs, 1 RP; Annex: 1 RN, 1 ED Tech
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 (flexible during acute surges)
- Equipment: Ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, Pyxis
- EMR Systems: Sunrise, Allscripts
- Patient Population: Multiple comorbidities including complicated heart conditions (NEHI patients), DKA, Sepsis, Trauma, Stroke
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
Licenses
- Registered Nurse License
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience (for contract labor)
- Strong communication skills with patients and peers
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Dependability and punctuality
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
Preferred Skills (for HCA hired staff)
- At least 1 year ED experience
- Additional certifications: MOAB
- Strong understanding of EKG interpretation

- Trauma care
- Stroke care
- Laceration repair
- Orthopedic trauma
- Ultrasound-guided IV insertion
- Intraosseous (IO) insertion
- Eye exams
- EKG interpretation
- Psychiatric care

Work Environment & Policies
- RN’s work with policy-written protocols based on chief complaint
- Able to order labs, EKGs, x-rays, medications per protocol to initiate patient care
- Dress code: Scrubs only; no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety
- Floating: None

- Every other weekend required for contract RNs
