Job Opportunity: MRI Technician

Location: Everett, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide quality patient care while performing diagnostic and therapeutic MRI procedures.
  • Operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic scans safely and effectively.
  • Position and immobilize patients appropriately; select technical factors and reformat acquired data for optimal scan quality.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning.
  • Explain procedures to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs.
  • Prepare and clean MRI equipment and scanner room for each patient; maintain supplies.
  • Perform daily quality assurance on MRI scanners and verify safe operation of patient equipment. Report malfunctions and needed repairs.
  • Maintain accurate and pertinent records.

Required Credentials and Compliance

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required before onboarding (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted).
  • ARRT Certification: Required before onboarding.
  • Professional License Verification: Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.

Health & Immunizations

  • Fit Test (N95 Respirator): Required within 365 days of start date and updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of vaccination or proof of immunity required.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions.
  • TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if >6 month break.
  • Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
  • Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred but optional.
  • Tdap Vaccine: Preferred, updated within 10 years.
  • Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray: Required if TB test positive (optional).

Background & Professional Checks

  • Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break. Includes international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated if >6 month break.
  • SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years.
  • National Sex Offender Check: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks: Within 30 days prior to start and annually (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid).
  • Education Verification: Verified through background check company for highest level achieved.
  • References: Two recent references required, including at least one supervisor or above in skillset.

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
  • Skills checklist.
  • Candidate submission coversheet.

Onboarding Requirements

  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form upon acceptance and for any extensions.
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required).
