Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Position requires 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8-hour days
• Work setting: Home Health
• Ratio: 1:1
• First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of homecare experience
• Recent knowledge of Homecare Homebase and OASIS charting systems required

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC certified
• Maryland State PT license
• Other certifications may be required based on unit or role (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP)

Skills & Competencies

• Experience with Home Health care
• Proficiency in Homecare Homebase electronic charting system
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams and other competency exams may be required within 3 years of start date
• Ability to pass Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam if applicable

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification for highest degree required by position
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required upon hire
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during employment
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

Health & Safety Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
• Immunizations and documentation required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer documentation
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer documentation
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask-wearing during patient encounters

Orientation & Facility Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to hire date
• Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual
• Clear photo for badge issuance (specific photo requirements apply)

• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Some roles may require additional certifications or competencies based on unit assignment
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures
