Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Contract)

Location

• Oconomowoc, WI

Facility Overview

• Level II Trauma Center
• Primary Stroke Center
• 91 beds
• Cath Lab: 2 labs
• Hybrid Cath/EP Lab: 1

Experience Requirements

• 3-5 years Cath Lab experience required
• Strong Cath Tech skills; EP experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered only if they have 5+ years Cath Lab experience in a large (200+ bed) facility

Patient Types and Cases

• Cath Lab cases: STEMI/NSTEMI, Angioplasty/Angiography, ASD, PFO, right/left heart Cath, thrombectomy
• EP cases (1 day/week): Pacemakers, generator changes, loop recorders, ICD lead revisions, cardioversions
• Average cases per day: 1-16 (varies by day)
• Patient ratio: 1:1

Required Certifications

• CVT
• BLS
• ACLS
• Preferred: RCIS, RTR (must have Cath Lab experience)

Skills Required

• Required: Monitor, pan, scrub, sheath pull
• Preferred: IABP assistance, EP, rotor blade, PFO, knowledgeable in complex cases

Support and Team

• Manager and supervisor support
• Other staff: Techs, nurses, educator
• No CRN support
• Bedside tele monitoring available

Charting Systems / Equipment

• EPIC (preferred)
• Mac Lab (preferred)
• Alaris (RNs only)
• Pyxis (RNs only)

Floating

• Possible to float to EP if experienced

Orientation

• 2 days total

  • Day 1: Meet educator, badge, login access, computer-based learning, compliance checklist
  • Day 2: Unit training with preceptor
• Orientation length depends on experience and comfort level
