Cardiac Sonographer - Medford, Massachusetts

Job Summary

Seeking a part-time Echo Tech (24 or 30 hours per week) to support the practice on-site Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Shift times are flexible based on candidate availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine echocardiograms to evaluate heart aspects such as chamber size, valve function, and blood flow.
• Review patient charts, explain procedures to patients, and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Assist physicians as needed.
• Communicate echocardiogram findings with cardiologists.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory.
• Assist staff with protocols and workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• RDCS or ARDMS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1-2 years of echocardiogram studies experience preferred.

Health and Professional Requirements

Health Requirements (Must be completed prior to onboarding)

• MMR Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; must be updated if there is a break >6 months.
• Health Statement: Physician-signed statement within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit testing is needed for the role.
• Optional but Preferred: Hepatitis B vaccine series or immunity proof; Tdap vaccine within 10 years.

Professional Requirements (Must be completed prior to onboarding)

• Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date; includes county and international searches if applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start date.
• Education Verification: Verification of highest education level achieved.
• SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal background check covering last 7 years.
• National Sex Offender Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Exclusion Checks: Search of OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.
• Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions.
