Cardiac Sonographer - Medford, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a part-time Echo Tech (24 or 30 hours per week) to support the practice on-site Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Shift times are flexible based on candidate availability.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine echocardiograms to evaluate heart aspects such as chamber size, valve function, and blood flow.
- Review patient charts, explain procedures to patients, and maintain ultrasound equipment.
- Assist physicians as needed.
- Communicate echocardiogram findings with cardiologists.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory.
- Assist staff with protocols and workflows.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
- RDCS or ARDMS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- 1-2 years of echocardiogram studies experience preferred.
Health and Professional Requirements
Health Requirements (Must be completed prior to onboarding)
- MMR Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; must be updated if there is a break >6 months.
- Health Statement: Physician-signed statement within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit testing is needed for the role.
- Optional but Preferred: Hepatitis B vaccine series or immunity proof; Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
Professional Requirements (Must be completed prior to onboarding)
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start date; includes county and international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start date.
- Education Verification: Verification of highest education level achieved.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal background check covering last 7 years.
- National Sex Offender Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: Search of OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions.

- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
