Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Setting: Busy acute care hospital (ICU and trauma care primary work environment)
Shift: 3 x 12 hour night shifts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Credentials:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Massachusetts license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
- Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Hamilton ventilators preferred
- EPIC documentation experience preferred
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Vaccinations and Tests:
- BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
- Documentation of MMR immunity (vaccines or blood test)
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
- Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Additional Health Documentation:
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of Fit Test record)
- If positive TB test, chest x-ray showing no active tuberculosis recommended
Professional and Background Checks
- Submission of a recent color photo (taken within past 6 months, plain background, no glasses) required for onboarding
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
- Social Security Number trace covering last 7 years
- Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
- Education verification of highest degree achieved
- Submission of a detailed resume covering past 7 years of work experience (including city and state)
- Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above)
- Completion of skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required
Notes
- All documentation must be current and updated as required if there is a break in service longer than 6 months
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or N95 fit testing
- Fit testing cannot be performed onsite; must be completed prior to start date
This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ICU/trauma experience, holding current Massachusetts licensure and credentials, who is comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
