Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour days
  • Hours may fluctuate between 8 to 9 hours Monday through Thursday
  • Fridays are condensed to 4 to 5 hours

Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Travel experience: Not required
  • Required Certifications:
    • ARRT (Therapy)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Elekta Infinity Accelerator
    • MOSAIQ record and verify system

Job Description

  • Under supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, plan and apply ionizing radiation according to prescriptions from radiation oncologists or physicists.
  • Provide patient care during treatment and educate patients on procedures and radiation reactions.
  • Produce external beam treatment plans using treatment planning computers.
  • Observe radiation safety measures for patients, personnel, and visitors.
  • Deliver treatments and document accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Work within a 100-mile travel radius.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I9 verification and attestation (for subcontractors)
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • E-Verify compliance
  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level)
  • Various federal and state background checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI, MAB certifications as applicable
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing (online)
  • Competency exams with minimum passing scores
  • Annual core testing and HIPAA compliance
  • Photo for badge
  • Employment application and skills checklist
  • 7-year work history verification

Notes

  • Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for New Mexico placements only
  • Some certifications and competencies are required as applicable based on role and facility policies
  • All documentation must be current and compliant with facility and regulatory standards
