Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Position Details
- Position/Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with holiday rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Must float within scope to all hospital areas including labor and delivery
- Floating to Sister Facilities: No
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience (RRT only, no CRT)
- License: South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license required at start
- Certifications: Must have all at start:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, full eCard with QR code required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NBRC (RRT) certification
- Radiation Badge: Not required for this position
- First-timers: Not accepted
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius 60 miles)
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated

Background Checks
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Must include: SSN Trace, SC Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, International searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification not required for this facility
Health & Immunization
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold not accepted; T-spot accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator clearance required annually for all patient-facing staff
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Competency exam required
Facility Specific Documents
- First Day Instructions and OurDay Modules must be completed prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required
- Signed assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, HR policy manual review, systems user agreement, user access request, job description, HIPAA confidentiality agreement, and employee info forms required prior to start
- MINI orientation review and acknowledgement required
- Physical assessment for sterile processors only (not applicable for RRT)
History & Verification
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start required
- Complete employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist updated annually required
- Work history verification not required for this facility
Additional Notes
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at time of start; no certifications expiring within 30 days of start will be accepted
- Candidates must upload all required health and vaccination documentation into the facility’s system prior to start
- Failure to complete required modules or submit documentation may result in being sent home or placed on leave without pay
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with critical care background who are licensed in South Carolina and meet all certification and compliance requirements. Night shift availability and flexibility to float within hospital units are essential.
