Description

Pediatric Oncology RN - Travel Assignment

Location: Anschutz Medical Campus (Multiple Campuses: North, South, Levels 6, 8, 9, 10, CPCU, NICU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Assignment Dates:

  • Option 1: 12/02/2025 to 03/07/2026
  • Option 2: 12/16/2025 to 03/21/2026

Unit and Patient Care Details

  • Specialty: Medical Oncology, Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
    • BMT: 1:2
    • Chemotherapy: 1:3
    • Maximum ratio: 1:4
  • Unit Size: 48 beds with cardiac and respiratory monitoring (in-room and centralized)
  • Float Requirement: Must float between multiple campuses and units as needed
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On Call: None
  • Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one of the three winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum Clinical Experience: 2 years as a Pediatric RN
  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Hematology, Oncology, and/or Bone Marrow Transplant
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA and ARC)
    • Chemo Certification (APHON)
    • BMT Certification
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • CPHON Certification
    • BMT Certification
  • Required Skills: Experience with ports and central line access/care
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required
  • Teaching Facility: Yes (Teaching hospital experience strongly preferred)
  • Trauma Level: Level I

Additional Information

  • No Return to Origin (RTO) approved within the first two weeks of assignment
  • Medical and religious exemptions allowed for seasonal influenza vaccination
  • This is an interview-to-offer position; candidates must be available for a call and interview with the IVS Manager

This assignment is ideal for experienced pediatric oncology nurses with strong hematology and bone marrow transplant skills seeking a travel role in a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
