Description
Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) RN Position
Location: Anschutz Medical Campus
Facility Type: Pediatric teaching hospital
Unit: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU)
Unit Size: 34 beds (single rooms)
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2:1 or 3:1 per shift
Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Assignment Dates: 12/02/2025 - 03/07/2026
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
Float Requirement: None (client may float within 35 miles to other clinical areas within competence)
On Call Requirement: None
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in Pediatric Cardiac Progressive Care or Cardiac Stepdown
- At least 1 year experience with inpatient pediatric cardiology (ICU or intermediate care)
- Working knowledge of pediatric 3-stage single ventricle care (will be assessed)
- Prior travel experience preferred but not required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with pediatric VAD (Ventricular Assist Device)
- Competence with pediatric cardiology patients including single ventricle, heart transplant, and VAD care
Additional Information
- No return to office (RTO) approved within the first two weeks of assignment
- Seasonal influenza vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions allowed for 2025-2026 season
