Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position

Location: San Marcos, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Call: Only on call with low census, limited to once every 2 weeks

Job Summary

• Practice independently in a similar clinical setting
• Provide routine and complex nursing care
• Manage long-range goals and clinical contingencies
• Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers as needed

Responsibilities

• Meet applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Completion of New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days (for newly hired experienced RNs)
• Participation in residency or orientation programs for newly licensed RNs
• Completion of annual competency verifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license in Texas or compact license
• BLS (AHA only) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only) required

Contract Length

• 12 weeks (interpreted from contract_length value)
