Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Travel/Contract)

Location: Maryville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery - OBGYN
• Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
• Unit accepts first-time travelers depending on experience

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

• Triage of Obstetrical Patients
• Use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Spiral Electrode Placement
• External & Internal Fetal Monitoring
• Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) Placement and Calibration
• Recognition and Treatment of Abnormal Fetal Heart Rate Patterns
• Administration of Blood & Blood Products
• Drawing Venous Blood
• Start & Maintain Peripheral IVs
• Use of Infusion Pumps / Drips / IV Monitoring
• Circulate and Recover for C-Section
• Epidural Anesthesia assistance

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form
• Background Check (within 1 year, covering last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check (annual)
• HHS/OIG check (annual)
• Education Verification (Transcript or Diploma acceptable)
• Illinois Adult Abuse Registry Search (required, can pend at start)
• State License Verification (Primary source online verification)
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Pass/Fail Testing (Medication and Glucose Meter exam during orientation; two attempts allowed)
• Competency Exams (Medication/Pharmacology, minimum 80% or Angoff score)
• Physical Exam (within 1 year)
• Fit Mask Testing (within 12 months)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history)
• Drug Testing (9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year)
• Flu Vaccination (strongly recommended but not required)
• COVID-19 Exemptions (Medical and Religious allowed with proper documentation)

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs comfortable with night shifts and weekend coverage, who meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above.
