Job Overview
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Sioux City, Iowa
- Employment Type: Temporary
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing and managing patient care.
- May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients.
- Patient population includes:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Cardiac Angiogram (pre- and post-care)
- Ablation
- Pacemaker care
- Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
- Cardioversion
- Stroke care
- Management of cardiac drips
- Cardiac drips managed include Nitro, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nirdipine, Heparin, Lidocaine with required titration.
Work Environment & Schedule
- EMR system: Cerner Powerchart
- Billable overtime: 36-40 hours/week; overtime billable after 40 hours/week.
- Holiday work required: Must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving).
- Time off restrictions during holiday periods (late November and late December to early January).
- On-call, charge, precepting pay differentials apply.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Stepdown nursing experience.
- At least 1 completed travel contract.
- Must be located more than 50 miles from the market.
- Required certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- State nursing license: Iowa (Compact license allowed).
- Submission must include:
- Work history/resume
- Skills checklist (completed within 1 year)
- License verification
- Required certifications
- One supervisory reference
- Proof of taxable address (e.g., driver's license, utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)
Additional Notes
- The facility was recently acquired from MercyOne.
- Night shift and holiday differentials apply.
