Job Overview

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Sioux City, Iowa
• Employment Type: Temporary
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing and managing patient care.
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients.
• Patient population includes:

  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Cardiac Angiogram (pre- and post-care)
  • Ablation
  • Pacemaker care
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Cardioversion
  • Stroke care
  • Management of cardiac drips
• Cardiac drips managed include Nitro, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nirdipine, Heparin, Lidocaine with required titration.

Work Environment & Schedule

• EMR system: Cerner Powerchart
• Billable overtime: 36-40 hours/week; overtime billable after 40 hours/week.
• Holiday work required: Must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving).
• Time off restrictions during holiday periods (late November and late December to early January).
• On-call, charge, precepting pay differentials apply.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown nursing experience.
• At least 1 completed travel contract.
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the market.
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
• State nursing license: Iowa (Compact license allowed).
• Submission must include:

  • Work history/resume
  • Skills checklist (completed within 1 year)
  • License verification
  • Required certifications
  • One supervisory reference
  • Proof of taxable address (e.g., driver's license, utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)
