Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Temp Position

Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • May float within the same discipline across local campuses.
  • Patient population includes CHF, cardiac angiogram pre/post care, ablation, pacemaker, TEE, cardioversion, stroke, and management of cardiac drips.
  • Drips managed include Nitro, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nirdipine, Heparin, Lidocaine with required titration.
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients.
  • EMR system: Cerner Powerchart.
  • Night shift: 16 hours.
  • Overtime and holiday work required, including working 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving).
  • Limit of 1 day off request allowed between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 for all travelers regardless of holidays worked.
  • Traveler must live more than 50 miles from the market.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Stepdown nursing experience.
  • At least 1 completed travel contract.
  • Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications.
  • Valid Iowa nursing license (compact license allowed).
  • Submission materials required:
    • Work history/resume
    • Skills checklist (completed within 1 year)
    • License verification
    • Copies of required certifications
    • One supervisory reference
    • Proof of taxable address (one of the following): Driver’s License, Utility Bill, Lease/Rental Agreement, Mortgage Statement, Insurance Statement, Voter Registration, Bank Statement, Auto Insurance, or Tax Return.

Additional Notes

  • This is a temporary travel nursing position.
  • The facility was recently acquired from MercyOne.
  • Call back and on-call duties may be required.

This position is suitable for experienced Stepdown RNs looking for a travel assignment in Iowa with a focus on cardiac and stroke patient care.
