Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Job Description
- Position: Radiation Therapist
- Floating Policy: Agency staff must float to other units or campuses within the health system as needed due to census concerns. Floating will only occur to units where the staff member is qualified and has demonstrated competencies.
Requirements and Compliance
Documentation & Background Checks
- Proof of I9 or Attestation
- Valid Driver's License/State ID (required ASAP for computer access and must be carried on duty)
- E-Verify or Attestation
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start, including SS trace, aliases, state and county searches for all places lived/worked in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Fingerprinting required for certain professionals without 12 months residency proof; WV fingerprinting required if applicable
- Education verification of highest level required (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
- OFAC Sanctions List Search for all new/pre candidates
Certifications (Must be current and valid, no expiration within 30 days of start)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for specific units including ICU, ER, Telemetry, Cath Lab, etc.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA, RQI, ARC only; no online-only cards accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for pediatric units, ER, PACU
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU, Pediatrics, and some RRTs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER/ED and Pediatric ER travelers
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – AWHONN required as applicable
- Tech Certification (National) – Must be current and valid
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA, OSHA/TJC training)
- STABLE – Required for L&D and NICU RN travelers
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required for ER and Pediatric ER
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Required for RNs in certain units; must pass with 84%
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for ER/ED, Pediatric ER, Behavioral Health
- State License Verification – Primary source verification required, no pending actions
- NURSYS Verification – Must show all licenses and authorization to work in SC
- IV Certification – Required for LVN/LPN candidates
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or equivalent – Required for ER/ED, Pediatric ER, Behavioral Health RNs
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required annually for ICU, Neuro ICU, ER, Telemetry, and other specified units
- Miscellaneous Certifications (e.g., Lactation Certificate for Women’s RN candidates)
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required annually for medication-dispensing positions
- Color Blind Testing – Required for nurses in ED, Pediatric ER, and MLT/MLS roles
- Competency Exams (Core Parts I, II, III) – Annual training and exams required, must pass with 80%
- Other facility-specific competency exams as applicable
Facility Specific Requirements
- Badge photo (passport style, specific background and no alterations) required prior to start
- Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment
- Pre-assignment testing (medication, EKG, arrhythmia) must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login
- Floating policy acknowledgment required annually
- Contractor acknowledgment form required within 24 hours of contract signing
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Respirator Fit Test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required for high-risk areas
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QF Gold, or Tspot) within 90 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 1 year and updated annually (5-panel minimum)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by deadlines (not required for remote workers)
- COVID-19 vaccination no longer required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for floating assignments within qualified units.
- All certifications and background checks must be current and verifiable.
- Testing and orientation modules are time-sensitive and mandatory for clearance to start.
- Compliance with all health and safety documentation is required for assignment continuation.
