Description

Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 15 weeks


Required Credentials & Certifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

    • Must have CST certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    • Required for onboarding. Acceptable certifications include AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military.
  • License/Certificate Verification

    • Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date. MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit Test (N95 Respirator)

    • Must be completed within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually. No religious exemptions.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

    • Documentation of two doses each of measles and mumps vaccines, and one rubella vaccine, or two MMR vaccines. Alternatively, proof of immunity via blood test.
  • Influenza Vaccine

    • Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
  • TB Test

    • Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date. Must be updated if there is a break >6 months.
  • Health Statement

    • Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Hepatitis B (Strongly Preferred)

    • Record of 3 vaccines or proof of immunity, or declination.
  • Tdap Vaccine (Preferred)

    • Within 10 years and updated upon expiration.
  • Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray (If applicable)

    • Required if positive TB test.

Professional & Background Checks

  • Criminal Background Check

    • Within 45 days prior to start date, including international searches if applicable.
  • Massachusetts CORI Check

    • Completed within 30 days prior to start date.
  • Social Security Number Trace

    • Must be run with criminal background check covering last 7 years.
  • National Sex Offender Registry Check

    • Completed within 30 days prior to start date and updated annually.
  • Exclusion Checks

    • Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists. Completed within 30 days prior to start and annually.
  • Education Verification

    • Verified through background check company for highest level of education.

Submission Requirements

  • Resume

    • Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state for all positions and education.
  • References

    • Two recent references required, at least one must be a supervisor or higher in the relevant skillset.
  • Skills Checklist

    • Required for submission.
  • Candidate Submission Coversheet

    • Required for submission.

Additional Notes

  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation is required as part of the fit test documentation.
  • Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.

This position requires compliance with all credentialing, health, and background check requirements prior to onboarding.
