Description
Respiratory Therapist Travel Position
Location: Anschutz Medical Campus (Children’s Hospital Colorado)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Assignment Dates: 01/06/2026 - 04/11/2026
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Position Overview
- Must be comfortable teaching Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) students.
- This position reports to the IVS Manager; an interview with the manager is required.
- Float requirement: May be floated to Anschutz & Network of Care Locations (South or North) within 35 miles.
- Weekend requirement: 13 weekend shifts out of 26 weekends (both Saturday & Sunday).
- No on-call requirement.
- Must work Christmas and New Year’s holidays if they fall within the contract period.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) blackout dates for new contracts starting January 2026:
- 2/7 - 2/15
- 3/22 - 3/28
- 4/3 - 4/7
- RTO policy:
- No more than 10 days off during the contract.
- No RTO approved within the first 2 weeks of assignment.
- Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions allowed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Cardiopulmonary.
- Prior travel assignment experience required.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Clinical Experience:
- Minimum 3 years Pediatric ICU.
- Minimum 3 years Neonatal ICU.
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department (ED).
- Minimum 1 year Pediatric Level 1 Trauma.
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years Pediatric ICU.
- Minimum 4 years Neonatal ICU.
- Minimum 2 years Pediatric Level 1 Trauma.
Additional Notes
- Holiday shifts during the contract period are mandatory.
- Floating or reassignment may occur within clinical competence and geographic limits.
