Description
Sleep Disorders Technician - Contract Position
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Facility: Sanford Medical Center (Sanford Health system)
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Perform diagnostic sleep testing including all PAP therapy titration
- Patient check-in, room setup, patient hookup, charting, and equipment cleaning
- Work exclusively in a 10-bed Sleep Lab (2 beds designated for pediatric testing)
- Located in a hospital outpatient department, off-campus from the main hospital
Equipment & Systems
- Computerized charting
- Natus XLTech Sleep Works software
- ResMed S9 Devices
Required Qualifications
- Sleep Tech trained with a minimum of 1 year experience
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Schedule & Work Environment
- Night shifts only, Sunday through Thursday
- 12-hour shifts
- Employee will not work alone
- No on-call required
- No floating to other units or departments
- Secured entrance, flat lot parking immediately outside
- No cafeteria on site
Patient Care Ratios
- 2:1 tech to patient ratio for most patients
- 1:1 tech to patient ratio for patients younger than 3 years old
Orientation & Training
- Modified EMR training provided
- One shift orientation with another sleep tech
Additional Notes
- Limited scoring during data collection
- Located in the lower level of a clinic building separate from the main hospital
