Travel RN Opportunity - Nashville, Tennessee

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Unit
Location: Nashville, TN
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: 6th Floor, Post-Op Med/Surg
Number of Beds: 34
Patient Ratios: 6:1
Staffing: Tech support available day and night shifts; unit secretary on site 7am-7pm
Equipment Used: IV Pumps, Telemetry, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), Continuous Pulse Oximetry, Feeding Pumps, PCA pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
Floating Policy: Contract staff float first; rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Patient Experience: Emphasis on attentive, compassionate care; bedside shift reports; strong patient and family engagement in care planning

Hospital Certifications

Comprehensive Stroke Center
ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center
Certified Chest Pain Center

Required Qualifications

Licenses: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience (highest required)
Skills: Ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
