Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract Opportunity

Location: Seattle, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements & Details

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • Travelers: No first-time travelers accepted
  • Call Requirements:
    • Call required, typically 6 evenings and 1 weekend per 6 weeks
    • Weekend shifts on standby, must respond within 30 minutes of callback

  • Procedures room with 3 cath labs and 1 hybrid OR
  • Work settings include Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs (required)
  • Special Procedures preferred

Required Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures

  • Cardiac Stent Placement
  • Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
  • IABP Placement/Removal
  • Impella insertion
  • Left heart catheterization
  • Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
  • Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Right heart catheterization
  • Rotablader athrectomy
  • Temporary Pacemaker
  • Ventricular Assist Device Insertion

Preferred Procedures

  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Pulmonary Artery (PA) line insertion
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
  • Watchman device

Equipment and Devices (Required)

  • Fluoroscopy (Siemens)

Procedural Responsibilities (Required)

  • Accurate monitoring
  • Equipment setup
  • Perform EKG lead placement
  • Prep access site
  • Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Room circulator
  • Scrub and maintain sterile field
  • Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)

Professional Knowledge and Skills

  • Isolation Precautions (Required)
  • Use of Rapid Response team (Preferred)

Systems Used

  • Medication System: Pyxis
  • Documentation Systems: EPIC, McKesson
  • Communication: SBAR

Additional Information

  • Scrubs provided
  • All on-call units require a 30-minute response time

Certifications Required (as applicable)

  • ACLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • BLS (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
  • PALS (if applicable)
  • NRP (if applicable)
  • Chemotherapy (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
  • IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other, if applicable)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB, if applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Institute (if applicable)
  • State License (copy and verification)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education Verification required for all candidates
  • State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable (Washington WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent), updated annually
  • Immunizations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (if onsite)
  • Drug testing: 10 panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Respirator safety clearance for travel candidates, updated annually

Training & Competency

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty
  • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
  • Specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules assigned based on region, profession, and specialty
  • Epic documentation training modules (if applicable)

Additional Notes

  • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Active compact license accepted at all Swedish facilities
  • Candidates separated from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) for at least 3 months are eligible for travel contracts
