Cardiology - Cath IR Radiologic Technologist (Contract)

Position Overview

Role: Cath IR Radiologic Technologist (Interventional Platform)
Employment Type: Contractor
Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Average Patient Census: 12-15 patients/day

Patient Types / Common Procedures

Cardiac Catheterization (Coronary Disease, STEMI)
Peripheral Catheterization (Peripheral Artery Disease, including AAA Repairs)
Electrophysiology (Arrhythmias) Studies, Ablations, and Device Implants

Required Certifications & Licenses

ACLS certification
Illinois Radiology Technologist license

Skills & Responsibilities

Scrub into procedures with procedural physicians
Support intra-procedure workflows and operate imaging equipment
Maintain sterile technique
Familiarity with Cath/EP/IR supplies and equipment
Radiation safety knowledge

Department Equipment: Philips Azurion Imaging Equipment, Carto EP Ablations, PFA Ablations, EKOS, IABP, Temporary Pacemaker, MERGE Hemo, Shockwave, CSI, IVUS/FFR

Orientation & Training

New Employee Orientation (NEO)
2 days departmental orientation

Scheduling

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts per week; day off varies)
Schedule Cycle: 6 weeks
Weekend Rotation: 1 weekend on-call per month
On-Call: 1-2 nights per week plus 1 weekend call (Friday 5:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM) per month
Holiday Expectation: 1 major holiday during contract
Return to Office (RTO) Requests: Up to 7 days possible if contract extended
