Location: Montclair, New Jersey

Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Charting System: Epic
- Float: Yes, to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend if needed
- Travel Radius: 50 miles
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Licenses:
- State Nursing License (Primary source online verification required)
- NURSYS Verification (for RN)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as applicable
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (online)
- Core Competency Exams (as applicable)
Background & Verification Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
- HHS/OIG check upon hire
- Education verification (must verify highest level of education)
- Work history verification for 7 years (NJ requires minimum 1 year prior verified with no gaps over 30 days)
- Transcript/Diploma may be accepted as placeholder if education verification is delayed
- Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain states; not applicable here)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- TB questionnaire within 90 days if positive TB test
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required
