Respiratory Therapist Contract Opportunity

Experience & Acceptance

• Accepting travelers with 1 year of experience
• Accepting first-time travelers

Patient Types

• Respiratory services including:

  • Nebulizers (nebs)
  • MDI inhalers
  • Chest physical therapy
• Acute cases: RSV, Entero-Rhino viruses (high flow oxygen and suctioning), Flu, intubated ICU patients (medical or post-surgical)
• Chronic cases: Asthma, SMA

Patient Ratios

• 1:1

Required Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• RRT-NPS (preferred)

Required Skills

• Registered respiratory care practitioner
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Experience with invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Familiarity with Servo ventilator, inhaled nitric oxide (iNO), airway clearance techniques, aerosol delivery, and high flow devices

Unit Support

• Charge therapist often takes a patient assignment

• EPIC
• Pyxis
• Alaris

Floating Assignments

• NICU
• PICU
• General care pediatric floors
• Pediatric ER (rotational)

Orientation

• 1 shift to learn the flow

Scheduling

• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Holiday expectations: 1 summer, 1 winter
• Time off requires manager approval
