Description
Nursing Contract Opportunity - State College, Pennsylvania
Position Summary
- Assist in delivering quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment.
- Participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
Experience
- One year of nursing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Understanding of medication effects on patients and patient education principles.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Familiarity with physician office procedures and medical terminology.
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Effective communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
- Problem identification, prioritization, quick decision-making, and solution recommendation.
- Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use examination and treatment equipment.
Licenses and Certifications
- Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
- Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed every two years.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, stressful, high-traffic medical office environment.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids.
- May require irregular hours and travel to other offices.
Physical Demands
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
- Manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
