Nursing Contract Opportunity - State College, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

• Assist in delivering quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment.
• Participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

Experience

• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Understanding of medication effects on patients and patient education principles.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
• Familiarity with physician office procedures and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Effective communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
• Problem identification, prioritization, quick decision-making, and solution recommendation.
• Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use examination and treatment equipment.

Licenses and Certifications

• Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, renewed every two years.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced, stressful, high-traffic medical office environment.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids.
• May require irregular hours and travel to other offices.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
• Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
