Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract Opportunity
Location: St Johnsbury, Vermont
Specialty: Nursing (Med/Surg Unit)

Shift: Night Shift (mainly adult patients with occasional pediatrics)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide comprehensive care for adult and occasional pediatric patients in a general Medical/Surgical unit.
- Patient care includes medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric cases.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet diverse patient needs using the Nursing Process.
- Focus on holistic care addressing patients' age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
- Work under the supervision of the Unit Director and alongside the Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor.
- This is primarily an adult Med/Surg floor; occasional pediatric patients may be present. Pediatric-only RNs are not suitable for this role.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience.
- Preference for candidates familiar with Meditech electronic health records.
- Current Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
- ACLS certification required.
- Flu shot required (no exceptions).
Additional Information
- Travelers will start on Wednesdays.
- During orientation week, hours may be reduced due to midweek start.
- Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, offering a scenic and outdoor-oriented lifestyle.
- Emphasis on a smooth onboarding process with credential submission required five business days before start date.
