Registered Nurse - Radiology Procedures
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Radiology nursing including Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Pre/Post procedure care (Phase 2 Recovery)
- Shift: 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-call: Yes, as needed per department
- Floating: No floating outside scope
- Block schedule: Not accommodated
- Local candidates: Not accepted (within 100-mile radius)
- Pending license accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days onsite
- Guaranteed hours: Client may cancel up to 3 shifts without penalty; on-call hours do not count toward guaranteed hours
Clinical Responsibilities
- Prep and recovery of procedural patients
- Moderate sedation in Interventional Radiology for CT, US, and IR cases
- Care for both inpatient and outpatient
- MRI monitoring of pacemaker patients
- Anxiolysis and medication administration for nuclear medicine patients
- Anesthesia for select patients
- Procedures include biopsies, tubes, lines, drains, lytics, thrombectomies, neuro, body, vascular, liver embolizations
- Use of Air pal for safe patient movement in IR rooms and ceiling lifts in CT rooms
- Monitoring with NK monitors and EtCO2

- Epic electronic health record experience required

Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable, certificate of completion not accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only, RQI acceptable, certificate of completion not accepted
- Other certifications as applicable based on unit/job description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
Licensure
- Primary source verification of state license required
- Pending licenses accepted
- Minnesota RN license required
- License expiration dates must be current and properly documented
Background Checks & Compliance
- Criminal background check required within 1 year of start date (7-year MN statewide search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year
- Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start (no pending fingerprints allowed unless approved "more time needed" letter)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Adult Tdap (no declinations accepted without exemption approval)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer required)
- Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
- Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
- Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-26 season (declinations accepted)
- Drug testing: 9-panel within 1 year, not required for client clearance but recommended
Competencies & Training
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Skills checklist required annually
- Completion of facility-specific pre-orientation modules within 72 hours of login (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
- Badge photo (passport style) required within 48 hours of contract signing
Additional Notes
- Facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergy should be informed
- Candidates must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after contract signing to initiate fingerprinting
- Candidates must be prepared to travel for fingerprinting if no local livescan location is available
- Modules and training must be completed timely to avoid delays in start date
- No local candidates accepted within 100-mile radius
This position is ideal for RNs with radiology/interventional radiology experience who are comfortable with moderate sedation, procedural prep and recovery, and working in a fast-paced acute care environment with a Magnet and Level III Trauma designation.
