Travel RN Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Unit: C200 Progressive Care
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 10
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 1 LNA, sitter PRN
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, 1 LNA, sitter PRN
- Patient Ratios: 3-4 patients per nurse
- Equipment Used:
- IV pumps
- Telemetry monitors
- Hoyer/stand lifts
- Bladder scanner
- Bair hugger
- Rapid transfuser
- Chest tubes
- Vein finder
- High flow nasal cannula
- BiPAP/CPAP
- Epicardial and transvenous pacers
- EMR System: Sunrise
- Patient Population: Mostly cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical patients, with occasional medical progressive care patients
Required Skills & Experience
- Must Have:
- Telemetry experience
- Comfort with chest tubes
- Preferred:
- Experience with cardiac drips (dobutamine, dopamine, Levo)
- External pacemaker experience
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Pericardiocentesis with drains left in place post-procedure
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube insertion
Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Registered Nurse License
Work Schedule & Environment
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating areas include Progressive Care and telemetry units
- Dress code: Scrubs (color/attire not specified)
