Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery RN (Contract)

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Perform assessments, monitor labor progress, prepare for C-sections and inductions.
• Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and patient education.
• Prepare delivery room, provide emotional support, and coordinate patient transfers.
• Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control and OB department policies.
• Use knowledge of obstetrics and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Colorado.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS certification within one year of employment.
• Preferred: 4 years of experience in obstetrics care.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge or interest in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursing care.
• Skilled in sterile technique and infection control.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse individuals.

Physical and Work Environment

• Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and unpleasant sights/smells.
• Full-time, 36 hours per week, night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs.
• On-call duties required.
