Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job in Greensboro, North Carolina
Job Details

Work Schedule
- 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Workdays: Friday through Sunday
- Holiday rotation required
- Backup call on 3rd shift (night) required for rare call-outs or volume assistance
- Department operates 24/7 with shifts varying between 8, 10, and 12 hours
- Weekday scanner operation: 8 AM - 8 PM or 9 PM (3 MRI scanners)
- Weekend scanner operation: 9 AM - 9 PM (2 MRI scanners)
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Must be registered in MRI with ARRT or ARMRIT
- Experience with GE & Siemens MRI scanners required
- EPIC system experience required
- Experience with anesthesia, pediatric sedations, ventilator ICU patients, and general pediatric patients (non-sedated)
- Experience scanning conditional devices using SAR and/or B1+RMS guidance, with ability to manipulate parameters to meet scanning conditions
- Experience with L2 Trauma, pacemakers, ICDs, and conditional implants mandatory
- Must have experience with all age groups from infants to geriatrics
- Experience in acute care facilities of similar size and function preferred
Equipment & Environment
- 3 MRI scanners: GE Architect 3T, GE Artist 1.5T, Siemens Sola 1.5T (all wide bore)
- Daily scanning of MR conditional pacemakers, ICDs, stimulators, and other implants
- Variety of exams on all patient types
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card required for badge issuance
- Background check within 60 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:
- Aliases, SSN trace, county/state/national criminal searches, federal court, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, education verification
- International background checks if applicable
- No open hits allowed on background check
- Foreign equivalency education evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
- Transcript/Diploma required for highest education (specific to lab positions)
- Fingerprinting (NC SBI) required for Home Health and Long-Term Care only
- Primary source education verification by a 3rd party required, including High School Diploma/GED verification for MRI Tech and related roles
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- PALS (AHA or ARC) for pediatrics
- NRP for certain specialties (L&D, NICU, OB Specialty Care)
- National Tech Certification (e.g., ARRT MR or ARMRIT for MRI Tech)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- EPIC test pass (2 attempts allowed; required for Allied and RN candidates)
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/Medication as applicable
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start (NC license required)
- NURSYS verification for applicable professions within 60 days of start
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, health history form, affiliate packet, floating policy, contractor equipment acknowledgement, dress code, and job description must be reviewed and signed/uploaded
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (as applicable)
- Fit mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators)
- Adult Tdap vaccine proof required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and annually
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B titer or declination required
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (includes THC, opiates, methadone, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, oxycodone, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted
References & History
- Two supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years required through third-party vendor
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period to update
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance deadlines are strict; all documentation must be completed on time prior to start date
- Candidates must be aware they are being submitted to the client and have reviewed the job description
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with strong experience in acute care settings, advanced MRI certifications, and comfort working nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment with a variety of patient types and complex scanning requirements.
